Introduction

New version out! 2.0 These release notes apply to version 1.0 of the nShield Container Option pack for Security World. They contain information specific to this release such as new features, defect fixes, and known issues.

The Release Notes may be updated with issues that have become known after this release has been made available. Please check the https://nshieldsupport.entrust.com/hc/en-us/sections/360001115837-Release-Notes for the most up to date version of this document. Access to the Support Portal is available to customers under maintenance. Please contact Entrust nShield Technical Support at nshield.support@entrust.com to request an account.

Features of nShield Container Option Pack v1.0

The nShield Container Option Pack (nSCOP) provides application developers with the ability to access the cryptographic functionality of an nShield Connect HSM from a container-based environment. The nShield Container Option Pack is installed on top of your existing Security World Software installation, allowing you to continue using your existing Security World and keys.

nShield Container Option Pack v1.0 provides support for the recent Security World releases; Security World v12.40 and v12.60.

The nSCOP release is delivered as a tar file containing all the scripts required. This includes a README.md file which contains installation and usage instructions and should be read prior to use.

Compatibility

Supported hardware

This release is targeted at deployments with any combination of the following nShield HSMs:

  • nShield Connect (500+, 1500+, and 6000+)

  • nShield Connect XC (Base, Mid, High)

Supported operating systems

This release has been tested for compatibility with the following operating systems:

Operating System Connect+ and Connect XC

Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 7 x64

This release can be used with the following nShield Security World Software installations:

  • Security World v12.40

  • Security World v12.60

Known Issues

There are currently no known issues on nSCOP v1.0.
