Test the nShield PQC Option Pack

The primary interface to PQCOP is a shared library that exposes all features. However, a test program named pipsqueak is provided both as example code and as a testing tool. To generate keys, you must have permission to write to kmdata/local. You will not be able to execute the examples in this guide without this permission.

  1. (Linux) Add the user to the nfast group, then exit and relaunch the shell:

% sudo usermod -aG nfast user
  2. Ensure that either pqsdk.dll or libpqsdk.so is available through the %path% or the LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable.

  3. On Linux, set LD_LIBRARY_PATH from the directory where you extracted the PQCOP ZIP file:

    % export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=.:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
  4. Test pipsqueak.

You should see a list of connected HSMS.

    ./pipsqueak
